In Norwegian, the word for fjord is "fjorden". The word for doorstep is "dørstokken" and the word for doorsill is "dørterskel". It doesn't seem to be related at all.

A norwegian fjord is a fjord in norway! (a fjord is seawater connected with the sea into the bottom of a valley) The Norwegian Fjord horse (named after the Fjords it lived near.) Is a very old breed and in fact the Vikings used to use them for warfare and even took some with them to Iceland where they helped to contribute to the Icelandic horse breed.
