What doese refurbished mean?

There are two meaning for refurbished laptops:

Companies like Toshiba, HP, dell and other computer companies check every computer they make to see if it works. If the computer doesn't work on the first try, they fix what is wrong and call it refurbished. These computers are usually as good as a computer that has not been refurbished, and they are cheaper.

If you are buying it from a classified list of a friend they call it refurbished because they did a recent upgrade.
