well if you have kids you should get a staffie because there good with kids they are also very protective when they have bonded with a family. but if you want a guard dog then you can get a rottwhiler (srry if i spelt it wrong) but you have to remmber they are also home pets but are better if you have older kids say 10+ but either way you don't pick a friend because their the best its because you know you are going to love them.
