None, unless prescribed by a vet.
You should ask your veterinarian this question. There are many different formulations of prednisone, some of which can be split and some which cannot.
they give it to my dog tocontrol the nawing and allergy
The dosage you give to a dog is about 5ml by Sophie loves dan
Prednisone decreases inflammation in the airways and may help symptoms, but will not treat an infection. In fact, Prednisone hinders the body's ability to fight infection.
Whatever dosage the VETERINARIAN said to use.
Prednisone, which is a steroid, is commonly used by vets in treating a number of skin disorders, including hot spots. But only administer it to your dog if your vet has instructed you to do so. If you aren't sure if it is a hot spot, then the dog needs to be examined in order to be properly diagnosed and treated. Also, give this medication exactly as prescribed by your vet. The dosage of this med is gradually decreased over the course of the treatment. To give your dog this med, and then stop giving it abruptly, without decreasing the dosage gradually, can cause serious health risks for the dog.
I wouldn't recommend it, mixing prednisone and alcohol can give you ulcers. I'm not sure about avelox.
I don't know if the dosage varies for high grade lymphoma, nor do I know which form of Prednisone you are referring to, so I will give you the general dosage of 'regular' Prednisone, instead of a compound steroid. According to my book, which is a comprehensive guide for drug usage in dogs and cats, the dosage for a 113 pound dog is .5-1 mg/kg PO q 12h. Translation: 1/2 to 1 milligram per killogram of body weight by mouth every 12 hours. Your dog weighs 113 pounds, which is 51.25 killigrams, so the dosage of this med would be 25 to 51 milligrams every 12 hours. Keep in mind, though, that the dosage varies for many illnesses, so please, consult with your vet before giving your dog this medication. Usually, when a dog (as well as people) take this med, it has to be gradually decreased, and not just discontinued, even after taking it for just a short while. Also, keep in mind, the dosage I gave you is only a general guideline for this particular med. You can probably call your local emergency animal clinic for free, and they can answer your question much better. This would certainly be much safer for your dog. I can't stress enough the importance of asking a professional before taking the advice of a non-professional. While I do have some knowledge in medicine, I am not a professional, so I strongly advise you to check with one.
My 3yr old daughter was on prednisolone for 2 days for bronchitis. The pharmacist advised us to give it to her after a meal to reduce stomach upset. I was recently on prednisone and my doctor advised me to take it before I ate
Can I give Ativan to my mini poodle and what dosage
Just went to the vet and he switched our dog from duramax to prednisone. They DO NOT mix well. Doing so can severely hurt your dog.
