1st Answer:
ibuprofen is toxic to dogs and cats -- their livers cannot process it. The dosage is NONE.
2nd Incorrect Answer:
Ibuprofen can be toxic to dogs and cats in very low doses. Yes their livers can process it. The recommended dosage is 2.5 mg/lb every 12 hours. Now the dosage has a very small safe window so there are much better choices. It is only a choice if you have no access to a vet in the short term.
3rd Answer:
NO Ibuprofen should NEVER be used with dogs or cats. You can use buffered aspirin instead. The dog should be taken to a Veterinarian to be checked out. The Vet can then recommend the appropiate medication. Ibuprofen is never a CHOICE for dogs or cats.
According to my veterinarian drug book, the recommended dosage of ibuprofen is 10 mg per kg of body weight every 24 - 48 hours. So if your dog weighs 25 kg, the dosage would be 250 mg. But, the same book also states that a safe dose of this medication has not been established for dogs or cats (contradictory, I know). Aspirin, however, is a safe and approved medication for dogs. The recommended dose of aspirin for dogs is 10 - 35 mg per kg of body weight. So the dosage for a dog weighing 25 kg would be 250 - 875 mg. Both of these medications can cause stomach irritation, so if you do give your dog either of them, it's best to do so with food. But I would strongly advise that you contact your vet before administering any medication to your dog.
NEVER give any dog ibuprofen. It is toxic to dogs. It is sometimes ok to give a low dose of buffered aspirin to a dog but the dose for a 9lb dog would be very small. Please check with a veterinarian before giving your dog human medication. Many medications that are safe for people can make dogs critically ill.
None. Ib is considered toxic for dogs and cats

Ibuprofen is fatal to dogs. DO NOT give human drugs to dogs. If your dog ate it, take it to the vet. It causes kidney and liver damage which may not appear right away but by the time it does it will be too late.
They are two different classes of medications, and there is no equivalent dosage.
Well, if you don't need it yes.
You can take Ibuprofen (Advil) at its lowest dosage 200mg/tab three times a day for 7 days or less with Metoprolol. Chronic high dosage intake of Ibuprofen can cause salt or water retention and hypertension.
800 mg every 6 hrs
NO! You should never give a dog ibuprofen.
The recommended dosage of Ibuprofen for adults over 12 years is one or two 200 milligram (mg) tablets or 10-20 milliliters (ml) every four to six hours. So just read the dosage on the children's Ibuprofen and adjust your dosage accordingly. There is no difference in the actual medication, children are just recommended to take a smaller dosage than adults.
