What driver came in second place at the 1939 Indianapolis 500?

The 1939 Indy 500 was won by Wilbur Shaw. Jimmy Snyder finished second. He drove an Adams chassis with a Sparks six cylinder engine. His car was owned and entered by Joel Thorne. Snyder died less than a month later, on 29 June 1939, in a midget car race at Cahokia, Illinois.
