Drugs.Decongestants constrict blood vessels to counteract the effects of histamine. This decreases the amount of blood in the nasopahryngeal and sinus mucosa and reduces swelling.Decongestants are stimulants.

Sudo-ephedrine. The pharmacist keeps it behind the counter so you have to ask for it and sign for it because people use it to make meth but it works like a charm. Make sure and stay hydrated while on it though because it works by drying up all the body's secretions, causing dry eyes, dry mouth, and constipation.

Sudafed (pseudoephedrine), Sudafed PE (phenylephrine), phenylpropanolamine (PPA) are decongestants. PPA is not available in the US except as a veterinary product.
