∙ 13y agoSeveral years ago, a meth test that was commonly used in the jails would show positive results for meth where the tested person had used Claritin-D 24 hour, due to the pseudoephedrine in Claritin-D. I don't know if the particular test is still in use, but would have expected it to hit on any product containing pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine happens to be a primary ingredient in meth.
I would hope that test has been replaced with a more accurate one, but I do not know. If you get what you know is a false positive on a test, put the person or organization running the test in touch with your pharmacist to determine which, if any, of your prescriptions could result in a "false positive". They will determine this by comparing the target chemicals of the test with those in your prescriptions.
