Apartheid was the tide of racism which threatened the humanity of non-white people across South Africa. In 1948 the first Apartheid Minister, Daniel Malan, was elected into office. By 1950 the first law requiring races to be registered with the state and Apartheid became a catalyst, igniting the nation in the war for civil rights. Through the horrors of the blatant racism South Africa began to form the seeds of what is now its firm grasp of civil rights.

Apartheid was seen by the free world as the racist and illegal exploitatation of one group of people by another. To voice its opinion and to 'encourage' abandonment of the practice, embargos were set in place. South Africa's economy suffered badly as a result.

It's good to have gold & diamonds by the truck-load and huge mineral resources, but if you have no buyers, you are in trouble.

I am from the former Czechoslovakia and apartheid falls under the period in which the economies of the most of socialist countries were independent of the rest of world. That's why the influences were none.

Since Black people were known as 'filth' and were not good for nothing except of labour, they did not get paid as much as a white person would be, for example; a white person gets paid £5.50 for working in a shop, a black person would only be paid not even half the amount of that.

Over all black people were not treated correctly and weren't paid the same amount as a white person, simple racist and unfair.

This is my own opinion and may not be totally correct.
