Provided your question is actually "What would happen to the learn if there was no atmosphere?" There are a couple things that would happen.
1. A total loss of gravity.
2. If you don't consider the earth's magnetic field part of the atmosphere, then after a total loss of gravity every living thing on the planet would die either from lack of oxygen and/or freeze to death because the temperature of the planet would become equal to that of outer space. (the temperature of outer space is -454 degrees Fahrenheit, -270 degrees Celsius, 3 degrees Kelvin.)
3. If you consider the earth's magnetic field part of the atmosphere, the earth would be fried by an endless array of solar radiation. coincidently this happens at exactly the same time was we all suffocate/freeze to death. (watch the movie "the core")
Greenhouse effect. The same effect that keeps Earth warmer than if there would be no atmosphere: without an atmosphere, the average temperature on Earth would be below zero Celsius.
They would create a double greenhouse effect
The Sun is the primary source of radiation for both the Earth's atmosphere and the greenhouse effect. Solar radiation enters the atmosphere, warms the Earth's surface, and is re-radiated as infrared radiation. Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere trap some of this infrared radiation, leading to the greenhouse effect.
Yes, the natural greenhouse effect keeps the earth's atmosphere warm enough for us to live.
In the atmosphere. The greenhouse effect refers to the situation in the atmosphere where gases hold on to the heat rising from the earth.
Well, lets look at it from two viewpoints: 1) The earth's atmosphere is not going to "disappear", hence that question is moot. 2) If the earths atmosphere somehow did disappear, it would have no effect on the moon's position in space as regards the earth.
The greenhouse effect comes about when greenhouse gases in the atmosphere capture heat rising from the surface of the planet. As the moon has no atmosphere, it could not have a greenhouse effect. So the answer is: The earth.
If the composition of the upper atmosphere allowed terrestrial radiation to escape more easily, it would lead to a cooling effect on Earth's climate. This increased ability for heat to escape into space would result in lower temperatures at the surface.
Atmosphere.
The trapping of heat by the Earth's atmosphere is called the greenhouse effect. During the greenhouse effect, radiation becomes entrapped which results in the heating of the Earth.
Its called the greenhouse effect!Surface temperature.
Humans would die of cold. A little carbon dioxide keeps the earth warm, through the greenhouse effect.
