What over the counter drug comes up amphetamine on a drug test?

Any over the counter (otc) product that says "non-drowsy" has a small dose of amphetamine in it. Primarily cold & cough meds. That's why they are locked behind the counter in most states; they are crushed and most of the base is cooked off. What is left over is used to make crank and other forms of speed

None of these OTC cold medications would show up positive for amphetamines or methamphetamines. The molecules are similar to cold medicines, but cold medicines molecular structure are not the same as amphetamines or methamphetamines. With more ingrediants, adding more molecules to your structure, you can create these drugs. But the molecular structure of cold medications will not make you test positive for amphetamines or methamphetamines. However, if something bizarre did happen, and it did show up positive for either of the two, which it wouldn't. Complain of a false positive, and your urine or whichever test being performed, will be sent to a lab and will than be confirmed as negative for methamphetamine or amphetamine, because they will than know every drug that has entered your system.

The usual suspects, Adderall, Dexedrine, vyvanse, etc. Basically any amphetamine-based drug. However, Wellbutrin (bupropion) and Eldepryl (selegiline) can also cause false positives because of the structural similarities between their active metabolites and amphetamine. Ritalin would not show up as amphetamine, but would still get you in trouble if you didn't have a prescription for it.
