Before a cell divides, its DNA is replicated (duplicated.) Because the two strands of a DNA molecule have complementary base pairs, the nucleotide sequence of each strand automatically supplies the information needed to produce its partner.
DNA is copied.
DNA makes up with chromosomes. The DNA is copied during DNA replication.
DNA is copied
DNA is copied (or replicated) by an enzyme called DNA polymerase. This enzyme generally operates in the 3' to 5' direction. However, this enzyme also has a 5' to 3' exonuclease activity, which enables it to remove certain wrong bases and insert correct ones. This ensure that the DNA is copied correctly
DNA is not copied during mitosis . Mitosis is meant for division of cell and DNA is divided in two daughter cells .
DNA is transcribed into mRNA in the nucleus.

In Interphase.

mRNA does not copy DNA, intead, mRNA is copied FROM DNR. The process is call translation.
