There are a few different motors that can swap in with some mods and wiring. you already have the ka24de in it. You can swap in The sr20det or if you have alot of money i would spring for the rb20 25 or 26. the Nissan skyline motor. it requires alot of wiring to work. I've even seen one person put a v8 into a 91 s13. you can also fit a ca18det which was in the early 240s in Japan it is a fairly cheap motor and swap is you have a first gen.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_240SX this site will tell you everything about the motors what will swap in etc
Vvl swap
yes they are the same engines.
nissan 300xz turbo
Yes it will. You would have to do a complete engine swap. The Silvia engine is the SR20DET. They don't cost that much.
If they are both 4.3L engines, yes. If one is a 2.2L and the other is a 4.3L, no.
No the engines are not interchangeable.
no 84 and 85 swap out.
The easiest engine swaps for a 240sx would be an sr20det or a ca18det as these require no modification to the motor mount location.
of course you can. you can swap almost anything in the S-chassis. KA24E, KA24DE, SR20DET, RB20DET, RB25DET, RB26DET, LS1, 2JZ, 1JZ, the possibilities are endless. -ralphy BEATDOWN
both are rear wheel drive so technically im sure it can be done. with extensive fabrication and electrical work just do an sr20 or ca18 swap its much easyer
with enough time and money, anything will fit, but in this situation, you can't swap engines without some modifications
Cost? 1200 for a rebuild. if your doing a swap go with a VG30 transmission, its much stronger and the adapter can be purchased for ~$100
