Lots of engines have a timing belt. Ask about 2 or 3 and I will tell you if they use a belt or chain. I am not going to list every single engine.
no
The belt could be wearing but not show any problems. When the belt stretches the timing will jump and the engine will run rough. If the belt breaks then the engine wont run at all.
Yes a timing belt can make it run bad the vale timing gould be off an the cam will be in re tard timing
It does not have a timing belt. It has a chain and gears. If timing chain goes out then the engine will not run.
No, the engine will not run with a broken cam belt.
If you can drive the car, the timing belt isn't broken. An engine will not start or run with a broken cam belt.
No, the timing belt may drive the water pump but the alternator is driven by a drive belt or a serpentine belt. Of course if the timing belt breaks the engine will not run thus stopping the alternator from turning.
yes, but the timing belt run off the oil pussure so your oil is a main key in timing belt, but yes it can be done.
The water pump on a 2000 Hyundai Sonata is driven by the timing belt.

Engine will not start and run if the belt has broken.
