In the beginning of the story, InuYasha thought Kagome was Kikyo, so he treated her like she betrayed him like Kikyo did. For a while, he is comparing her to Kikyo, so he saw Kagome as not as strong or powerful, so he treated her poorly. Later he starts to like Kagome, so he gives her more respect, care, and safety. He even becomes overprotective of her when he falls in love with her.

Unfortuanetly Inuyasha returns back to his time and the Bone Eater's Well closes, leaving Kagome and Inuyasha separated for three years. However one day Inuyasha thinks he hears Kagome and runs to the well, when he reaches into it he grasps Kagome's hand. They get married and spend the rest of their lives together. That is in the last chapter of the manga that came out June 17th hope that helps :)
