The tri-wizard tournament.
The Triwizard Tournament
The big event in the first year of Harry Potter is that Voldemort, or You-Know-Who, was going after the sorcerer's stone. This would have made him immortal.
The Shrieking Shack
There is no mention of any such event.
Harry Potter took Parvati Patil to the Yule Ball in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." Parvati is one of the Patil twins, and her sister Padma attended the ball with Ron Weasley. Harry's choice was influenced by his feelings and awkwardness surrounding the event.
Voldemort killed his parents.
There were a few major moments for the shaping of Harry in the Sorcerer's Stone. However, the arguably most changing was his discovery of the Mirror of Erised.
Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger go through a series of challenges to stop Professor Quirrel and Lord Voldemort from stealing the Philosopher's Stone. Harry then has to face both Quirrel and Voldemort alone which results in the death of Quirrel.
Harry Potter goes back to Hogwarts and finds out that there will be a tournament called the Triwizard Tournament. Two other Schools show up to compete in the tournament and a representative of each school is chosen to compete. After each School's representative is chosen by the Goblet of Fire, it does something it doesn't normally do. It spits out another name. Harry Potter becomes the fourth competitor alongside Hogwarts other competitor Cedric Diggory. Eventually the tournament gets to the last event and Harry and Cedric find the Goblet together but it turns out it is actually a transporter to a graveyard where Voldemort comes back alive. He fights Harry and kills Cedric.

No, it is yet another 'film-only' event. The house is never burned down in the Harry Potter books. In fact it is a very important location for the beginning of the final book as some key events occur there.
Yes he is, but very distantly. However in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows the book when James Potter II says he saw Victoire Weasly (George and Angelina Weasly's daughter) snogging Teddy Lupin Ginny says that she wished they could get married so he would be part of the family. On the other hand in the Order of the phoenix Sirius says that on the family tree is Bellatrix Lestrange. In Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows in the meeting at the start of the book discussing between the Death Eaters and Voldermort how Harry will be moved Voldermort jeers at Bellatrix saying that there was a happy event meaning the event of Tonks and Lupin's marriage. Tonks and Lupin are Teddy's late parents so Sirius so is related to Teddy. In the epilogue of Harry Potter and the deathly hallows Harry marries Ginny Weasly meaning he is related to all the Weaslys. In Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix Sirius says that the Weaslys are related to him but won't be on the family tree because they are blood traitors. Therefore Harry is related to Teddy Lupin.
