Her full name is Mildred Ella''Babe'' Didrikson Zaharias. She was born on June 26th in 1911. She was an outstanding athlete who had great success in Golf, Basketball, and Track and Field. She was declared as the Tenth Greatest North American Athlete of the 20th century by ESPN. She won the 80m hurdles in 1932 Olympics and Javelin Throw also. She received a silver medal in the high jump.

In javelin, she threw 43.69 meters (143 feet, 4 inches) which was an Olympic record but short of the world record held by Nan Gindele of the U.S. at 46.745 meters (153 feet, 4 1/4 inches).
