Many artefacts have been found when doing digs in places around Ireland. For example, a lot was found when works were being done on Wood Quay in Dublin to build a new building there in the 1970s. There are old walls of towns and cities that date back to Viking times. Cities such as Waterford are sometimes referred to as being Viking cities.
