Some believe that The Bible is the word of God because it was literally told to the authors by God himself, and therefore is infallible. Others believe that the Bible was inspired by God and, although it can contain errors of history and science, it is infallible on matters of faith.

There is no evidence of either. The Bible contains many errors of history and science, and is therefore not infallible. It contains many contradictions and inconsistencies on theology, and is therefore not even infallible on matters of faith.

How do you believe in the bible if it was written by humans beings?

Belief is not dependent upon evidence. Either you are convinced or you are not; either it makes sense or it does not. From a fundamental Christian perspective, it is believed that while the Bible was written by humans, it is the divinely inspired word of God.

What is meant by saying that the Bible is the inspired word of God?

Some who believe that the Bible is the word of God say it was literally told to the authors by God himself, and therefore is infallible. Others believe that the Bible was inspired by God and, although it can contain errors of history and science, it is infallible on matters of faith. There is no evidence of either, so neither view can be be put forward as more correct than the other.

Is The Bible inspired?

The dictionary definition says that a work can be considered inspired if it was prompted by or emanated from a supernatural source. An inherent assumption in this is that the supernatural source would have ensured that the work, in this case the Bible, was historically accurate, lacking in errors and inconsistencies, but containing prophecies or other material that could only have come from a supernatural source. We can most easily tell that the Bible is not inspired because of the errors and inconsistencies in the text. We can also tell that the Bible was not inspired by comparing the authorship and date when each book was really written, with the author and dates supposed by tradition. Some archaeologists now dispute much of the supposed history of the early Hebrews, evidence once again that the Bible was not inspired. The Bible contains a number of supposed prophecies, but these seem to have come true soon after they were announced. For example, Isaiah 7:14 prophesied that a young woman would have a son; this prophecy came true in verse 8:3 - unarguably before Isaiah wrote his book. The Book of Daniel contains many supposed prophecies, but it can be shown conclusively that the book was written in the second century BCE, after the 'prophecies' had come true. There is no evidence that the Bible is inspired, so the conclusion is that it is not. Christians believe that the Bible is indeed inspired by God. What would be different if the Bible were not inspired?

If the Bible is inspired - then that's how it is. We believe it is inspired - none of the authors have said that they were inspired - that came later, and from other people. If the Bible is not inspired, we wouldn't know. So, nothing would be different.... with the actual book itself What "might" be different is how people regard the book. As it is, many people don't believe the bible to be inspired - and some of them disregard the book, others of them just look on it as a book containing incredible wisdom and life-advice.
