As in a modern human's skeleton, Lucy's bones are rife with evidence clearly pointing to bipedality. Her distal femur shows several traits unique to bipedality. The shaft is angled relative to the condyles (knee joint surfaces), which allows bipeds to balance on one leg at a time during locomotion. There is a prominent patellar lip to keep the patella (knee cap) from dislocating due to this angle. Her condyles are large and are thus adapted to handling the added weight that results from shifting from four limbs to two. The pelvis exhibits a number of adaptations to bipedality. The entire structure has been remodeled to accommodate an upright stance and the need to balance the trunk on only one limb with each stride. The talus, in her ankle, shows evidence for a convergent big toe, sacrificing manipulative abilities for efficiency in bipedal locomotion. The vertebrae show evidence of the spinal curvatures necessitated by a permanent upright stance.
Dogs do not see colour anywhere near the same as humans. They were once thought to be dichromats--essentially severely colour blind. Modern research now suggests that dogs do see SOME colour, but not to the extent that humans do. So there is absolutely no reason, or evidence, that dogs would cower at anything based on it's colour.

Here's an educated guess. It means that a body of evidence apparently supports a hypothesis, but more and stronger evidence is needed before the hypothesis can be taken seriously. The evidence that suggests the validity of the hypothesis may even be anecdotal, or general untested 'knowledge', or informally gathered. Some experimentation has to be done to try to refute the hypothesis. You would not want to put a lot of weight on the assumption that the hypothesis is absolutely true until you have exhausted, to the best of your ability, the possibility that it is false.
A cause and effect hypothesis is a proposed explanation stating that one phenomenon (the cause) leads to or influences another phenomenon (the effect). It suggests that changes in the cause will result in changes in the effect, allowing researchers to test and analyze relationships between variables.
There is no evidence which suggests that Kim Kardashian is a smoker.
the hypothesis might be correct* * * * *The available evidence suggests that the observations were less likely to have been obtained from random variables that were distributed according to the null hypothesis than under the alternative hypothesis against which the null was tested.
Evidence suggests they did.

In the scientific method this would be called the "hypothesis".
An 'out of body' experience is as close as you can get to that evidence.
A hypothesis is what someone suggests could be true, and then tests it to see whether or not it is true. A law is what has been proven to be true.

There is no evidence that suggests that lifting stunts growth.
Evidence suggests the Milky Way Galaxy is a spiral galaxy. Two small irregular galaxies are near it.
