Certain elements such as Uranium 235 and Plutonium 239 give off neutrons. When a neutron hits them, they split into two or more elements and give off more neutrons. They also give off a lot of heat. That heat can be used to boil water. The steam produced can be used to spin turbines. The turbines can spin generators and produce electricity. Burning coal, oil, or gas, can be used to produce the heat to boil water to produce the steam to spin the turbines to spin the generators to produce the electricity. The advantage of nuclear energy is that it does not produce a waste material that is released into the atmosphere.

What exactly is nuclear fusion?

It is the combination of two nuclei into one nucleus and release of energy on consequence.

Is fusion nuclear energy or chemical energy?

Nuclear fusion produces nuclear energy

Is nuclear energy a chemical energy?

The energy released is nuclear energy.

Is fission nuclear energy chemical energy or mechanical energy?

Nuclear fission is a type of nuclear reaction that converts nuclear energy into thermal energy (heat), which can then be used to generate mechanical energy (such as electricity). So, fission nuclear energy originates as nuclear energy and can be converted into mechanical energy.

What energy is the energy that is stored in an atoms nucleus?

The energy stored in an atom's nucleus is nuclear energy. This energy is released through processes like nuclear fusion or fission, which involve manipulating the nucleus of an atom to release large amounts of energy.

Is nuclaer energy renewable?

Not exactly, but there are enormous reserves of nuclear fuel available. This is because a small amount of uranium, for example, or of deuterium, produce a large amount of energy.

What are the advantages of using the nuclear energy?

Nuclear energy has the advantage of being a low-carbon energy source, producing significant amounts of electricity with minimal greenhouse gas emissions. It provides a reliable and consistent power supply since nuclear plants can operate continuously for long periods. Additionally, nuclear energy is an energy-dense source, meaning it can produce large amounts of electricity from a small amount of fuel.

Can nuclear energy work with other forms of energy?

Nuclear energy is converted to electrical energy in a nuclear power plant.
