There are many, many different factors that could influence the way a person views a deity. From what I've heard, a person's perspective of god can have a lot of footing in how the person perceived their father as a child. The stages of developement tend to root the parental image in the minds of people, so it tends to come back to that when it comes to religion.

Another thing would be life experiences. Many people convert to a religion after they believe that they have witnessed a miracle, or other similar events. Out of body experiences, extreme cases of luck or bad luck, near death experiences, or the behavior of others around them are all ways that could influence the way a person sees God. For example, many people who survive deadly accidents or risky hospital operations believe that divine intervention could have been involved, and become more active religiously.

As with just about any kind of thing that a person could have an opinion on, it is largely up to how the person's life goes. Little events, relations with others, and several other things could all be reasons for someone to view God differently.

All of this is information is based on what I've learned over the years. It's as factual as possible, to my knowledge. I hope that this helps.
