Many of native Americans were killed by the diseases brought by Europeans. For 1000s of years, Eurasians and Africans were exposed to many dangerous diseases through contact with domesticated animals, such as pigs and chickens. Therefore, their populations built up immunities to these diseases. The natives of the Americas had few domesticated animals and so their populations were not familiar with - and hence had built up natural immunities - to diseases such as smallpox and many strains of the flu.
Due to the native Americans inexposure to diseases, they had not been able to build up a strong enough immune system. Therefore 90% of native Americans died due to diseases we now call the common cold flu and small pox.
The Indian Relocation Act of 1830 officially said that the tribes were to be removed from their lands and moved west to reservations. The forced march, often with limited food and shelter resulted in large losses of life. Unscrupulous Indian Bureau agents added to the misery by fueling the fire with alcohol, illegal weapons and poor food and shelter.
From their arrival in the first colony the European settlers did their best to kill, remove, or displace the Native tribes from their lands. The government made treaties they broke and they forcibly removed people to reservations. The Union army would go into a sleeping village early in the morning and kill men, women, and children. The government policy was a " good Indian was a dead one" and they would do anything to accomplish this task. Read Black Elk Speaks or Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee for further understanding of the genocide that was committed.
The Americas were not densely populated before Columbus. The Native American population declined principally from European diseases against which they had no immunity. Centuries of warfare and forced migration to less-friendly environments were other factors.
Native Americans had no immunity to European diseases.
Europeans had superior weapons and used these to defeat Native American tribes.
Because the europeans treat the native american as slaves.
