The best biographies contain facts which are interesting to the general public while also being about the essence of the person being studied. Ancestry and family background and how these influenced the character throughout his or her lifetime are the backbone of the biography. The settings where the character was born, lived, visited and died and how they affected the person show how environment shaped them, or whether they were oblivious of their surroundings. Biographies should not be without testimony of the events which influenced the character, especially testimonies from the most influential people in the persons life. These could be written records or actually taken from interviews with those people. The more intimate the fact, the more it brings the character to life. The best biographies contain facts which make the reader believe could only have come from the characters mouth.
