There are several families of whales that are stout and have highly arched jaws, most notable of which are the right whales (family Balenidae) and gray whales (family Eschrichtidae) though all of the mystecites (baleen whales) have arched upper jaws.
The right whales have the most highly arched jaws and the longest baleen as well. These whales feed almost continuously, swimming along with their mouths open. The water flows into the whales mouths and out through the baleen, which traps the tiny amphipods called krill that they eat.
Gray whales (Eschrichtius robustus) have much shorter baleen, but they feed in a totally different way. Gray whales are the only cetaceans that are bottom-feeders. They scoop up a big mouthful of mud from the bottom and then swim around with it, drawing water in through the front of the mouth and pushing it out through the baleen until all of the mud is gone, and then they swallow what is left. You can tell when gray whales are feeding by the muddy trails they leave in the water. Gray whales eat only one meal per year, it takes three months, and it lasts them until they get back to arctic waters after spending the winter in the warm waters of Baja California.
