It"s a song of the holiday type, but not actually mentioning Christmas. the song was written by Leroy Anderson. again it was written as an independent- single record as they used to call them, and not specifically for a movie or play. On the other hand the somewhat back-handed ( it seems to be there is a crisis in the background)- Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas- was written for the movie Meet Me in Saint Louis. The Fair would have been long out of season!- it was in part about a Carnival Fairgrounds thing in l904 in that city ( the movie, not the song). So it goes. of some interest- Walt Disney NEVER produced any Christmas songs, plays, movies in his lifetime ( ending in l966) Babes and Toyland came the closest, but it is not strictly speaking Christmas show.
