How do you hook water line from dishwasher to disposal?
To hook a drain line, not a water line, from the dishwasher to the garbage disposer is as follows: there is a connection on the garbage disposer for a dishwasher (on the side) There is a plastic fitting that came with the disposer(if all parts were saved) The fitting is going to look like it has barbed ridges(fortubing toslide over)on one end and a flange and seal at the other end. 1) make sure the plastic is knocked out of the disposer where the fitting connects to. 2) Connect fitting to disposer using 2 screws 3) Connect drain hose from dishwasher to disposer by sliding rubber gromet over plastic barbed fitting. Make sure you cut the rubber gromet to the right size of the fitting 4) Use hose clamp over rubber gromet. 5) Use zip ties to hang drain tubing as high as you can so water wont drain back into dishwasher. (new dishwashers ususally have p-trap built into the drain line already.) thats it. should work
What must be done to a disposal before connecting the drain from a dishwasher?
The disposer fitting , where the dishwasher drain hose fits, has a plug inside that must be knocked out. I use a heavy screwdriver and a hammer. Don't forget to fish the plug out from the body of the disposer.

Does a compression fitting have to be replaced on copper pipe to hook up a dishwasher and if so how do you get the old one off?
Compression fittings unscrew. Inside you will find an 'olive' (a thin copper ring) which is compressed onto the pipe to create a seal when the outer nut is tightened up. If you wish to replace the compression fitting then you may need to use a junior hacksaw to saw through & remove the olive - be careful not to cut into the pipe unless you wish to replace it too. As for the dishwasher I would guess that you could use the same fitting unless it is leaking. If it is leaking then replace the olive as above.
Can you install a new faucet with an extra spray outlet and use the dishwasher vent hole in the sink thereby connecting the dishwasher drain directly to the disposal?
Not sure what you mean by dishwasher vent hole, but you probably mean the air gap fitting. Some dishwashers connect directly to the disposal, with the tube going up a little to prevent stuff from going back to the dishwasher. But as for removing the air gap fitting, if you have it already, it may depend on where you are. California plumbing code requires a dishwasher air gap fitting above the flood level rim, even if you have a disposer, but I'm not sure if the national code also requires. In any case, if a code requires it, it may be a good idea not to remove the air vent. I would check your local code. You may want to consider a faucet with a built in sprayer instead.
