There are many rivers in northern India. The Indusstarts in northern India and flows south to the Arabian Sea. The Ganges starts slightly east of this and flows east across the northern plains to the Bay of Bengal.
Northern plains are so fertile. because the rivers that rise from the Himalayas flow through these plains and they bring some alluvial soil. That is one of the monst importance of Northern Plains.
