To fix power steering problems in a 2001 Ford E250, first check the power steering fluid level and top it off if it's low, as leaks can lead to steering issues. Inspect the power steering pump for any signs of wear or damage, and ensure the drive belt is tight and in good condition. If the problem persists, consider checking for leaks in the power steering lines and replacing the pump or steering gear if necessary. Always consult a professional mechanic if you're unsure about the repairs.

Check the catalytic converter. They get plugged and cause the vehicle to lose power.
If there is no drain plug you will have to remove the pan to drain the fluid. This removes 4-5 quarts out of 12 or so in the transmission. You can also take it to a shop and have them do a fluid exchange where they pump out all the old fluid and replace it with new.
You add the transmission fluid to where you check the level (I think it's on the passenger side when you look under the hood). remove the dip stick and add fluid with a narrow funnel. Check level when engine is running.
