Soda is not a food, and does not belong in a food group. It has been artificially manufactured, and is not needed by the body. Therefore it is not part of the 'healthy eating triangle'.
Although it is very nice, try to not depend on it as your only liquid source, as the caffeine can actually make you feel more dehydrated and you can become addicted. Water exists :) Soda does not contain any nutritional benefits. It is what is known as 'empty calories'; is no nutrients present, pure energy.
