Soup and porridge, mostly, until it heals. Stay away from anything with yeast, and avoid hard, tough things that require a lot of chewing. Sticky things are nasty too. You won't want to move your tongue, but recall that you use it to move food around your mouth.
Ice cream is wonderful. Eat lots of that. Slushies are useful as well.
