This depends on the wedding theme and the preference of the bride and groom.
The hustle and bustle of the Capulet household's preparation of the wedding feast is ironic because, unbeknownst to them, tragedy will soon strike with the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. The festive atmosphere of the wedding feast creates a stark contrast to the impending doom that will soon befall the families.

Interesting question. I went to Wikimedia Commons, which has many millions of pictures, and did a search for "medieval wedding feast." There were five results, four of which were details of the same image. Both the images were what some person thought might be a wedding feast, but there was nothing conclusive. According the the article below on marriage, weddings were private things in the Middle Ages, and were celebrated only when there was some reason of state to do so. Private marriage were private; they were between a husband and wife, were not conducted in church, did not require witnesses, and were not performed by a priest. They could be registered in the local parish register, but that was not required. This, it seems, was the situation until 1545, when marriage became an issue for the reformation and counter reformation. I have put a link below to a related question on medieval feasts.

In the King James version While there may be verses that mean - come as you are - that particular phrase does not appear at all. --- You might be thinking of the passage in Matthew 22 - where the servants went out into the highway to invite people to the wedding-feast - but that ends up with the opposite meaning of 'come as you are' - as the guest who came without a wedding-garment was bound and cast into darkness.
