Best Answer

weight refers to the gravitational force.

The force of gravity on a 5kg mass will be 5kgwt or 5x10 Newtons.

F = m x g Newtons in SI units - Newton’s second law

g is acceleration due to gravity on earth.

g can be taken as 9.8 m/s*2

or 10 for easy calculation.

50 Newtons is weight of a 5 kg mass.

A weight is a force, and the correct SI unit to measure it is the Newton. To get an idea of its magnitude, with normal Earth gravity, a mass of 1 kilogram has a weight of approximately 9.8 Newton.

Weight is measured as the downward force of?

gravity

Matric unit for weight?

Since the weight is a force, it is measured in newtons.

How do you find force if you have the weight?

Weight is a force. It is described as the gravitational force acting on an object. It is measured in newtons. If you are thinking of the mass (measured in kilograms for instance) then you multiply by the acceleration due to gravity. Weight = g x mass.

Is weight mass or force?

Weight is a force - the force with which gravity attracts an object. Therefore, being a force, it is measured in unites of force, usually Newtons.

What is the difference between weight and presssure?

Weight is a force (measured in Newton). Pressure is force per unit area (measured in Newton / meter2, also known as Pascal).

What are the differences between mass weight and gravity?

Gravity is the name of the force downwards Weight is the force downwards measured in Newtons Mass is how heavy something is measured in KG

Is weight measured of the gravitational force on an object?

Weight is gravitational force on an objects Mass. Mass don't change when gravity changes but the weight does.

What is the SI unit used to measure force and its abbreviation?

Force is measured in newton. Weight is a force; therefore it is also measured in newton.

What is the force of gravity pulling on your mass measured in newtons?

Is your weight your mass or force?

Your weight is a combination of your mass and the force of gravity. on the moon your weight is less because the force of gravity is less, however your mass remains constant no matter where it is measured.
