What force moves a tornado?

The great wind speed of a tornado is driven by a pressure gradient force. The pressure inside a tornado is lower than in its surroundings, so air is drawn inwards. The larger the difference in pressure over a given distance, the greater the pressure difference. Tornadoes produce a very large drop in pressure over a very short distance.

Tornadoes generally move with the thunderstorms that produce them, which are in turn carried along by the large scale wind pattern.

What kind of force does a tornado have which keeps it to have that funnel shaped wind?

The wind in a tornado moves in a circular fashion as it is pulled inward by the pressure gradient force resulting from the low pressure at the center of the tornado.

What happens as a tornado moves?

A tornado moves with its parent thunderstorm. As the tornado moves air flows into it and accelerates to great speeds. Objects caught in the path may be damaged or destroyed.

What kind of force that the tornado have like centripetal force centrifugal force?

Hi, Well the force is centripetal force during a body is initially attacked by the tornado, when the body started swinging in the tornado from the surface of the earth, the time when body covers some distance from downward to upward is the time when centrifugal force is applied.... That means tornado have both the centripetal force and centrifugal force..... Thanks you!

Why does a tornado move up instead of down?

Air in a tornado moves up because the tornado forms in the updraft portion of a thunderstorm.

Why do things get sucked up into a tornado?

Objects get sucked up into a tornado due to the low pressure at the center of the vortex, which creates a strong upward suction force. This force can lift and carry debris, dust, and even larger objects into the funnel cloud.
