Decisions are based on what is pleasing to the public or what is politically acceptable at the time. Ex. The Great Recession of 2008 virtually killed the form of federalism "The Federalism" to where now the gov't is very much involved with state matters

Federalism is a form of government where the National government, and the States government is shared, and equalized so none gain power over one another.
Dual federalism begun in 1837 and lasted for over 100 years. In this form of government, power is divided between the state and federal governments.
The four models of federalism are command federalism, dual federalism, functional federalism and cooperative federalism. The United States uses the dual federalism model.
