Communism
No. It is a communist country. it is dictatorship since Mao era (dun get Republic of China Taiwan and People's republic of China (Mainland) mixed up)
China is a republic, and is not Communist. Communism means a classless stateless society based on production for use, and would have to exist at a global level.
That position does not exist in 2010.
After World War II, the Chinese Civil War concluded with the victory of the Communist Party of China (CPC) led by Mao Zedong in 1949. This resulted in the establishment of the People's Republic of China, which implemented a communist government. The CPC's victory led to significant social and economic changes, including land reforms and the nationalization of industry. The rival Nationalist government retreated to Taiwan, where it continued to exist as the Republic of China.
Contaray to public belief, communism technicaly doesn't exist. By definition, communism is the final stage of socialism where government seizes to exist. Many countries in Africa have no government, but this isn't communsim because that isn't n-government by design it is by civil war or war. But China, Vietnam, Cuba, and Korea claim to be communist but they are really Socialist.
A Democratic Republic
Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China, as such, it's ruled by a CPC Secretary. The title of Prime Minister doesn't exist in China, its equivalent would be the 'Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China' charge, which currently is held by Li Keqiang.
that government should exist by the consent of the people.
Government should exist with the consent of the people.
NO. PR China is a Communist Dictatorship. Specifically, it is a LENINIST COMMUNIST STATE. Leninist Communism is the political theory that a single party called the Communist Party rules the government and governs all affairs as opposed to individual politicians. Although the single party in a Leninist Communist State is the Communist Party, the party need not practice Communist political theory. In both China and Vietnam, there is a state-directed, right-wing economic and political theory.
Many people consider the ancient city State of Athens to have had the oldest republic as a form of government. The Roman Empire was until Augustus became Emperor also a republic. The oldest republics can therefor be said to originate in Italy and Greece. The oldest 'modern' republics (that moreover still exist as such) are Iceland and San Marino.
