First, Ford did not make a roadster in 1940. The closest thing to a roadster would be the convertible, but it was not a roadster. All passenger car frames were the same from 1935 through 1940. Or, if you want to ruin your '40 by using a non-original drivetrain, there are aftermarket frames available set up for late model components.
unbolt it from the frame. you may need to grind the bolts off.

Ford fuel pumps are in the fuel tank. The line comes from the top of the tank, alongside the frame, to the injector manifold. the fuel filter is on the frame below the drivers door. in order the replace the filter you will need to buy a tool the replace it.
