The African-American starting quarterbacks for the University of Alabama have been Walter Lewis, Vince Sutton, Danny Woodson, and Andrew Zow. These men all served as quarterback for the Crimson Tide throughout history.
Micheal Landrum, a Sweet Water High School graduate, became the first black quarterback to play at Alabama when he entered as a reserve against Vanderbilt on Sept. 29, 1979. The Crimson Tide won 66-3.

According to College Football Data Warehouse, Alabama's first football game was played November 11, 1892 against Birmingham High School. Alabama won 56-0. Ironically, their second game was the very next day against the Birmingham Athletic Club. Alabama lost that game 5-4.
