Ok, if you're saying metals in general, you can say acids in general.

All acid + metal reactions produce the same gas : Hydrogen.

That is because the metal replaces hydrogen, hydrogen is released as gas(H2)

Do hydrochloric acid react with calcium?

Yes. When most metals react with dilute hydrochloric acid, metal chloride and hydrogen gas are the products. In the case of calcium, calcium chloride and hydrogen gas are produced.

How do you react acid with metal?

Metals will react rapidly with most acids. If the acid is concentrated the reaction can be violent. To react one with the other simply drop acid onto the metal surface with an eye dropper or place the metal object into the acid (with care if the acid is strong).

What kind of gas is being produced when the metals reacted with the acids?

Hydrogen gas is liberated when metals react with acid. The explanation lies in the fact that the the presence of hydrogen in a substance makes it acidic. so, every acid will contain Hydrogen. When metals reach with an acid, they form their respective salts according to the acid and always liberate hydrogen from that acid. If the acid is H2SO4, then the salt will sulfate of whichever metal reacts with the acid. If the acid is HCl, then the product would be metal chloride.

What is produced when acids and bases react?

A salt is produced when an acid and a base react each other.

Which gas is produced when dilute hydrochloric acid is added to reactive metal?

Remember the general acid reaction eq'ns. Acid + Alkali = Salt + Water Acid + Base = Salt + Water Acid + Metal = Salt +Hydrogen Acid + Carbonate = Salt +Water + Carbon Dioxide. So if you react hydrochloric ACID with a METAL it will produce the gas HYDROGEN.

What are compounds that taste sour and react with metal?

When acids react with metals?

Home/Sitemap · you are here: Forum => letter 18515 Acid and metal reaction++Q. When an acid is added to a metal, what kind of reaction is produced?A. Some acids react with some metals and not all acids react with all metals. It all depends on what is reacting with what. However, assuming there is a reaction, the acid will dissolve the metal to produce the metal salt of that acid; at the same time it will produce hydrogen gas. ie 2H+ + M = 2M+ + H2

What gas is produced when metals react with water or acid?

If a gas is produced it is hydrogen (H2)2H+(from acid) + 2e-(from metal) --> H2
