Both genders are very equal in care and you should probably get two Guinea Pigs. But you should realize they CAN get pregnant if you have a Male. But it is better to have both types because they are very social in the wild. Boys tend to get very stinky!
If you only have one guinea pig get him/her another guinea pig friend of the same gender. It could be lonely.
A girl guinea pig is easier to look after as they are less likely to bite you but male guinea pigs can be tamed although they are harder to tame!

There are a lot of places one can learn to care for a guinea pig. One can learn from a book dedicated to guinea pig care, look on the internet for pet care tips, or simply ask an expert of animal care.

Yes, you can determine the gender of a baby guinea pig by looking at the distance between the anus and the genital opening. In male guinea pigs, this distance is greater than in females, and you can sometimes see the shape of a little “i” for males. It's easier to spot in older guinea pigs but can be more challenging in newborns or babies.
No, not at all.
Either male or female is good. Males are meant to be more tame and grow a bit bigger and two litter-brothers will always be friends, although females do fight a bit more than males because in one season a female is bad tempered and the other female has to keep out of the way ( so she will be lonely). The season occurs every sixteen days, some females never argue though. Overall I think two males( boars) are the best option!
You don't make them run, nor should you force them to do anything that is not it the guinea pig care guide.

Princess Diana was humorously awarded a "Guinea Pig of the Year" title by the British pet magazine "Guinea Pig" in 1992. This light-hearted recognition was given for her care and attention to her pet guinea pig, named "Gizmo." The award highlighted her fondness for animals and her approachable personality.
Probably a Guinea Pig. They are bigger and get sick less often. They also live longer.
