You can buy algae control chemicals, but it will kill your snails if you have any. I use a scrub brush with a texture of SOS pads, but it's plastic so it wont scratch the glass.
you buy an algae fish at a pet store to eat the algae.
Fish would die. There are species of fish that live off the algae.
they flack off the scales
They don't eat fish. They eat algae off of the coral reefs.
Algae eating fish include: bottom dwellers such as loaches, cat fish and plecs and many marine and fresh water tropical fish such as plecostomus fish.
Because when a Algae Eater becomes fully grown it likes to eat the slime coat off the other fish. ( NOT all Algae eaters though) for example the Chinese Algae Eater WILL eat the slime coat off the other fish when it is fully grown.
Well, usually the line gets really lose right after the fish gets off.
algae growing off of it supplies it with stuff to live and the algae gets help too:)
Most fish will not eat only algae, and will eat anything else you put in and leave the algae untouched, instead. If you want to add something to a tank in order to get rid of algae, I recommend a snail or some shrimp. Or you could take a clean rag and wipe it off the tank.
Sucker fish typically eat algae, detritus, small invertebrates, and sometimes fish eggs. They use their specialized mouths to attach to surfaces and scrape off the algae and microorganisms.
The only algae eaters that are safe with goldfish are bristlenose plecos. Weather (dojo) loaches can also be placed with goldfish, but they are not comparable to a pleco for cleaning algae (though they do clean some).
Black nerite snails are herbivores and primarily feed on algae found in tanks. They will also consume leftover fish food, decaying plant matter, and biofilm that may accumulate on surfaces in the aquarium. It's important to provide them with adequate algae sources to ensure they have sufficient food.
