It depends on a couple of things - the type of ink and the type of cloth. Obviously the more delicate the cloth, the more careful you need to be with a stain.

Here are some methods you can try - obviously test each option on an out-of the way spot first so you don't ruin your garment more than it already is....

Option 1 - Dish soap. This probably won't work, but it is worth a try especially on new stains. Pat gently with 100% strength dish soap, and rinse clean. Don't rub, or you might spread the stain around.

Option 2 - Alcohol. Try this next - dab the stain with 100% alcohol. Pat and gently rub then rinse clean.

Option 3 - Goo Gone. This is a brand name product for goo removal. It sometimes works on hard stains (ink/oil/tar) as well. Read instructions and pat gently on stain. If it leaves an oil stain in its wake, rub on Lestoil, let soak in, and rinse and launder as usual.

Option 4 - Dry cleaning fluid. Dry cleaning fluid is available at some specialty stores, and some shoe care stores (Moneyworth and Best in Canada). It comes with a cotton swab. Dip a bit of the fluid and pat on the stain and rinse. Or if your item is dry-cleanable, take it to the drycleaners and point out the stain for extra treatment.

Anyway, that's my bag of tricks. Good luck!
