Depends on what your interpretation of "faster" is. Top speed, 0 to 60...etc. What engine, transmission and rear end gears? I can tell you this...the 78 Camaro had a 305.....maybe a 350. The 78 T/A was available with a Pontiac 400. More horsepower and torque than the Camaro. Both cars with the same drive train and gearing...with the top engine offered for both cars....the T/A is "faster".

there is no such thing, the fluid goes into the transmission pan. the very bottom of the trans is a pan, held on with about 20 small bolts..the filter is also in this pan.
The prefix "trans-" means in a manner that goes beyond.
speedometer probably only goes to 85 on that vehicle but it will go over 100, 78's were great looking cars but no horsepower.

Check the Transmission for any stamped in numbers... there should be a pad with the VIN stamped into it to identify that Transmission with the car it was installed in. There are also date codes stamped into the trans. This goes for both Auto and Manual Transmissions.
