John Mckinly
John McKinly (born February 24, 1721 in Ulster, died August 31, 1796 in Wilmington, Delaware) served as the first Governor of Delaware, serving between February 12, 1777 and September 12, 1777. Following the end of McKinly's term as Governor, Thomas McKean (born March 19, 1734 in New London Township, Pennsylvania; died June 24, 1817 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) became the second Governor of Delaware, serving in between September 22, 1777 and October 20, 1777. Following the end of McKean's term as Governor, George Read (born September 18, 1733 in Cecil County, Maryland; died September 21, 1798 in New Castle, Delaware) became the third Governor of Delaware, serving between October 20, 1777 and March 31, 1778.
