In a 1995 Mercury Cougar , 4.6 liter V8 engine ( 5W-30 )

I like to use Valvoline synthetic and have had good luck with it.
To remove the door panel on a 1993 Mercury Cougar XR7, the first thing to do is to remove the lens covers from any lights in the door. The unscrew the light fixtures from the door. The door panel is attached by the use of clips. With a little nudging with a flat object, such as a screw driver, the clips will pop free of the metal.
My 1994 Cougar XR7 with a 3.8 Liter V6 averages about 24 mpg. The car is very aerodynamic. I use Michelin tires I think that makes a big difference.
5W30 full synthetic.
I NEVER USE A MULTI GRADE OIL I USE A STRAIGHT 30 WEIGHT DETERGENT
The grade of oil your vehicle uses is determined by what geographical area you live in. The colder the weather the thinner the oil. The warmer it gets the thicker the oil. Most vehicles use 10-w40 grade Motor oil. Your handbook will have the specific grade that your car needs to use.

I use what the vehicle manufacturer calls for.
No, use exactly what is recommended by the manufacture.
According to the 2000 Mercury Cougar owners manual ( 5W-30 ) for the four cylinder and V6 engines
use a funnel and add it to the dipstick tube
Use any 10 - 40 W oil. You can also use a single grade 40 W oil if the mower is old and much used.
