Plant Biology
An orange pip is the seed of the orange which is a citrus fruit that grows on a tree. A sunflower is a flowering annual (herbacious plant) which grows from a sunflower seed. Both plants may grow in the same area, but they are not related to each other.
Just like every other plant on Earth. Put a seed in the ground, water it and presto a long time later you have a sunflower.
The seven processes of a sunflower include germination, growth, photosynthesis, reproduction, pollination, seed development, and seed dispersal. Germination begins when a seed absorbs water and begins to sprout. As the plant grows, it utilizes photosynthesis to convert sunlight into energy. Finally, the sunflower undergoes reproduction through pollination, leading to seed development and eventual seed dispersal for propagation.
A sunflower seed is an achene which means a simple dry fruit. The sunflower seed are referred to as the fruit of the Sunflower because it is produce by the plant.
There is no need to do this with domesticated sunflower seed.
in late spring, sunflower seed will germinate
A sunflower seed grows into a sunflower with more seeds. A seed must flower before making more seeds. Each flower produces over 1000 seeds.
sunflower
There are many varieties of sunflower, from 12" high to 12 feet high at maturity. They all start from seed in the spring, reaching maturity, blooming and going to seed in the fall. While roses can add to their size by quite a bit during one season - some canes can grow two or three feet - I would have to say that a sunflower grows faster.
