Well, if you are going for early seventies, I would just flat iron it straight and sleek, but if late seventies /early eighties then let it dry naturally (no matter how frizzed it gets) and then flib your head over and massage in gel on the roots, flip over, then pouf and spray with hair spray. hope this helps :)
