After you die what happens?

Literally: Your body will decay naturally and generally turn into dust again...

It says in The Bible (summarizing) From dust you came so to dust you will return.

CONSCIOUSLY:

Non-religious: Many mixed ideas. A common one is that it's like the time before you were born; no thought, no feeling, no sense of time, an infinite number of years goes by instantaneously, etc.

Christianity: You die, and if your sins have been forgiven and you've been Saved by believing in Jesus Christ, then you go to Heaven, a place of streets apparently paved with gold, no sorrow, and ultimate worship of God. If you weren't saved because you didn't believe, you go to Hell and burn in the pits of all fires.

Not all Christians believe this however. Many believe that leading a good life is enough to go to heaven. It may not be through fault of the person that they have not found God, but in doing good and serving others a person does what God would want him/her to do.

Simply believing in Jesus Christ is not sufficient for a full remission of one's sins, one must repent, which is a multi-step process.

Every human being who has ever lived will be resurrected, i.e. regain your physical body. You will have a body and live forever, guaranteed. Its what happens after that is the interesting part.

Heaven is a place of continual learning and progression, not sitting on clouds playing harps, just being a good person and believing in Christ will get you into heaven as an angel, but that is the lowest level of glory in the kingdom of heaven, its like being a page boy. Strive for more, strive for perfection and following Gods plan.

Hell is not Fire and brimstone and eternal pain and torment, it is simply, eternal life, out of the presence of God, with all of your addictions and no way to satisfy them. What could be more of a torment then that? Being constantly flayed alive may seem like a picnic in comparison.

A:I believe that once you die, your entire life flashes before you - you realize your mistakes, note things you should or should not have said and most importantly all of your regrets. All your fun times you wish you could have back. Everything. All at the same time, you can see and hear everything and everyone around you. It's almost like you have 360 vision, but blinded by your past. It seems confusing but when your time comes you will understand. A:I think that your brain has some blood and oxygen left in it after you die, so that causes near death experiences. After you die, nothing happens and your mind is alone in darkness. You may still be able to think, though.

Buddhism and Hinduism: Once you die, you get reincarnated into a higher or lesser body, depending on if you led a good or bad life. When you are a human, you can meditate and become enlightened. If an enlightened one dies, they go into Nirvana (bliss) and become one with Brahman or the Buddha.

A:I think after you die, you see a bright light, but that's not heaven or hell, it's just your brain cells not having any oxygen and after you die you will feel like you are sleeping. A day later you will wake up as if on any morning of your mortal life, but you wake up you look and feel younger and you will probably look at your corpse ( you might freak out a little ) and you will soon realise that you are dead. You get up from your funeral casket or tombstone, you will have the abillity to do what you want, whenever you want. You will see mortal bodies and spirits and ghosts. You can fly, shapeshift, and will not be governed by any mortal fabric. If there is a heaven, why is the universe so dark and mysterious? There is no hell too. Just the earth, the galaxy and the whole universe! That comrades will probably make you change your minds about the after life!

Nothing is happen after we die. Death is not complete annihilation, it's only a state of temporary unconsciousness while the person awaits for resurrection. The Bible repeatedly calls this intermediate state a sleep.
