The battle at the Alamo in Texas was fought during the Texas Revolution or the Texas War of Independence. General Santa Anna lead the assault on the small band of about 260 Americans who held defense within the mission's walls. Men such as William Travis, James Bowie, and David Crockett fought during the Battle of the Alamo. At the end of the battle nearly every American was killed, including Travis, Bowie, and Crockett. Did you know that General Santa Anna declared William Travis' slave a free man after the battle? ~Apple Juice
