There are no negative effects, other than the usual tetanus immunization side effets. If you are in an area experiencing an outbreak of pertussis, you may choose to get the Tdap immunization, which includes protection against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis, immediately regardless of the interval since your last tetanus shot. You shouldn't NEED two vaccines in six months - It would be on your medical record when you had your last one, and they are effective for about ten years.

Do a person need a tetanus shot if someone gets dog bite you He is up to date on his shots?

it wouldn't hurt to get a tetanus shot, but you definitely need to see a doctor. anytime you have a puncture wound from an animal bite, there is a VERY high chance of get a blood infection that can be extremely serious!!! if the animal is wild or abnormally vicious, you may need to get a rabies shot. if a human develops signs of rabies, it is too late!

What organs does tetanus affect?

tetanus also called ''lockjaw'' is a nasty disease it is caused from a bacteria called Clostridium tetani -funny name -its hard to pronounce too- (cul-stur-id-um tet-an-ni). It effects every part of the body and has most effect on the jaw hence the nick name ''lockjaw''. People AND horses can get tetanus. Tetanus CAN be prevented. But in Canada tetanus shots are FREE to people with a mental injury or people 5 months or younger. but remember the bacteria that tetanus is caused from is Clostridium tetani !!!!!!!!!!!!! ★
